Deer Hunt by Persons with
Disabilities at Rice Lake NWR will Limit Public Access Oct. 2 – 5, 2014.
Rice Lake National Wildlife
Refuge, McGregor, MN will be holding their 8th annual deer hunt by persons with
disabilities Oct. 2 – 5, 2014. In order
to accommodate this special hunt it will be necessary to close the Wildlife Drive to
all other users at 12:00 p.m. The refuge
will be open from sunrise until 12 noon for anyone wishing to drive the
Wildlife Drive, or access areas open for small game hunting and deer archery
The only area not affected by the
afternoon closures is the southeast area of the refuge located between the Rice
River and Rice Lake. Access to this area
will only be from the south by way of Aitkin County Road 4 and Township Road
