Bridge Replacement - Detour

There is a detour on Brown County Hwy 16 south of Columbia, due to a bridge being replaced. If you are planning on visiting the refuge within the next few months, and will be accessing from the south, you will need to take an alternate route.

From Bath:  
 
Go north on Brown County Hwy 16 for 6 miles until you reach Brown County Hwy 13. Travel west on Brown County Hwy 13 for 4 miles until you reach Brown County Hwy 14. Go north on Brown County Hwy 14 for 4 miles until you reach Brown County Hwy 11. Travel east on Brown County Hwy 11 for 5 miles until you reach Brown County Hwy 16 again. Go north on Brown County Hwy 16 through Columbia until you reach refuge headquarters, about 7 miles north of town. The refuge headquarters will be on the east side of Brown County Hwy 16.  
 
From Aberdeen: 
 
Go north on U.S. Hwy 281 from Aberdeen until you reach South Dakota Hwy 10. Go east on South Dakota Hwy 10 until you reach Brown County Hwy 16. Go south 3 miles until you reach the refuge entrance. 
 
 
OR 
 
 
Go north on Brown County Hwy 14 from Aberdeen until you reach Brown County Hwy 11. Go east on Brown County Hwy 11 until you reach Brown County Hwy 16. Travel north on Brown County Hwy 16 for approximately 8 miles until you reach the refuge entrance.
