About the Refuge
Hike with a Ranger to McGinty Mountain Peak!
For a good workout and beautiful views, hike to the peak of McGinty Mountain at 2,160 feet on the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge with a USFWS Interpretive Ranger.
This hike is a 1,280 elevation climb, 4.8 miles round trip, and steep, so only intermediate and experienced hikers are encouraged. Bring water, very sturdy hiking shoes, and walking sticks if you have them.
