Paddling Posse for Invasives

 You are invited to be part of a paddling posse to locate invasive species on the Mississippi River. Join Refuge Ranger Ed Lagace and Refuge Biologist Lisa Reid as they search for water lettuce and water hyacinth near Buffalo City, WI on Friday, June 7, 2013. The posse will depart from the Lower Spring Lake Landing at 9:00 a.m. and return to the landing by 2:00 p.m.

  • Pre-registration is required

     The Lower Spring Lake Landing is located near Buffalo City, WI on South River Road at the Lock and Dam 5 embankment entrance. GPS coordinates 44°12`19.83"N 91°49`57.30"W.

    Pre-registration is required by calling or emailing Refuge Biologist Lisa Reid at 507-494-6234 or lisa_reid@fws.gov. The Refuge will provide canoes, paddles and PFD’s for your use or you can bring your own equipment. Binoculars for bird viewing, a lunch and drinking water are recommended.
