Registration now open for the Jr. Stewards Program

The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge and the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge are offering an exciting program called Jr. Stewards for youth ages 9 – 14+. We will learn about and explore the wonders of the Refuge.

Enrollment is free and limited to 16 youth and is first come first serve. Jr. Stewards will usually
meet all year long on the first Saturday of each month, beginning Feb 2, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Some of the programs that will be provided are: Tools that Biologist’s use; Discover our National Emblem; Exelon Fish Hatchery, Canoeing Adventures to name a few. If you would like more detailed information and download a registration form, please visit www.sumriver.org or you can contact the refuge office at 815-273-2732. Space is limited so don’t wait too long.

A Kickoff event will be held on January 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Refuge's Ingersoll Wetlands Learning Center, 7071 Riverview Rd, Thomson, IL 61285. This will be a time you can register or find out more information.
