Fishing from boats is permitted in waters outside the Sanctuary Area and Research Natural Area. Boat fishing for Chinook salmon is popular in the Nisqually Reach and Nisqually River from July through September. Boats can be launched at the nearby Luhr Beach boat ramp, maintained by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. There is no bank fishing access along the Nisqually River or McAllister Creek.
Before fishing check with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for updated fishing regulations.
Check the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge map before you go fishing.
