2011 Career Discovery Internship Program

Kiara Ford

My name is Kiara Ford. I grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. I have always loved the outdoors, people and animals. I want to pursue a career that would not only help mankind but will provide protection for all surrounding species. I attend the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and major in Agriculture/Business. I am also an orientation assistant with the Orientation Program. My hobbies include reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family and friends. The thing that made me interested in applying for the CDIP internship was that I knew that I could excel in it. I wanted to participate in a program that would strengthen my knowledge and apply it to what I already know. The most important thing I hope to gain out of this experience is learning first-hand what I can practice in my field later on in life. It will also help me build new relationships with others as friends in the business world. My goal is to graduate from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with my Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Business and go on to get my Master’s degree. During that time I will still be interning, hoping to find a permanent placement. My goal is to work for the USDA, the FDA, or the USFWS.
