10th Annual Butterfly Count

The ninth annual Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge butterfly count was held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 for the North American Butterfly Association (NABA). A total of nine volunteers participated. The volunteers divided into three groups and spent a total of 16.5 hours surveying numerous locations throughout the refuge. A total of 36 species and 1,124 individuals were recorded.
