In the Northeast Region, there are 14 YCC programs. Programs are typically 8 weeks long from June through August. Participants get a variety of experiences from biological monitoring to general refuge maintenance and visitor services. Scouts National Wildlife Refuges and Fish Hatcheries offer scout and other organized youth groups many of the same opportunities provided to schools, including training for educators/leaders and group programs on specific badge requirements. Our refuges and hatcheries have also hosted many Eagle Scout projects.
