Refuge Guidelines


The following guidelines will help make your visit to the Rappahannock River Valley NWR more safe and enjoyable.

Roads and Trails
In an effort to protect delicate habitats, we ask that you stay on designated roads and trails.

Firearms and other weapons
Prohibited on the refuge except as permitted during designated hunts.

Pets
Prohibited on the refugre.

Plants, Animals, and Artifacts
Disturbing or collecting is prohibited.

Swimming, Camping, or Fires
Prohibited on the refuge.

Hours
The Wilna and Hutchinson tracts are open daily, sunrise to sunset.
The Tayloe, Port Royal and Laurel Grove Tracts may be visited with advanced reservations.  To schedule a visit, please call (804) 333-1470 during business hours.
The Refuge Headquarters is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., except Federal Holidays.

Entrance Fee
There is no fee required to visit the Refuge.
