Land Protection The Refuge includes ten Divisions totaling 5,293 acres of mainland that spans 50 miles of the Maine coast in the towns of Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Biddeford, Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Wells, Ogunquit, York, and Kittery. Refuge habitats include salt marsh, beach, dune grassland, rocky shore, marine open water, estuary, tidal river, freshwater wetlands, upland forest, shrubland, and grassland.
