Hunting & Fishing Opportunities
Hunting for deer, waterfowl, upland game, and webless migratory birds and fishing will be allowed on Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge in accordance with state and federal regulations.
The 2013-2014 hunting program does not reflect any changes from the 2012-2013 hunting program. The Refuge will be operating under status quo for this upcoming 2013-2014 hunting season.
UPDATED - OCTOBER 17 - The Refuge will be open to deer hunting during the State’s muzzleloader hunting season on Saturday, October 19. All permits will be issued by a standby-lottery drawing at the check station in the morning at two hours before legal shooting time on a self-serve basis. Hunters can also obtain permits for available stands on a first-come, first-serve basis immediately following the morning drawing until 2:00 pm.
The application deadline for firearms hunts at Prime Hook and Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge's has been extended until Friday, October 25. The drawing for these hunts will take place during the week of October 28.
