Refuge Planning
Northeast Region

Step G: Implement Plan, Monitor, and Evaluate

Following the approval of the CCP and public notification of the decision, implement the strategies identified in the CCP. Allocate funding and staff time to the strategies the CCP defines as priorities. Start the monitoring and evaluation process identified in the CCP to determine whether we are making progress in achieving the purpose(s), vision, and goals of the refuge. Monitoring should address the effects of management activities on habitat or population objectives. Our evaluation of the results of monitoring and research may indicate the need to modify refuge objectives or strategies through adaptive management.
