Sample exhibit screen

A permanent touch screen exhibit, Nature Calls©, was custom made for Patuxent by Inter-score Interactive, Inc. Visitors can quickly find information about the various birds, mammals, amphibians, and insects commonly found on the refuge and nearby areas. There is also some “Fun Stuff” to entertain and educate all ages.

Nature Calls© features photographs and sound recordings of each species as well as migration and habitat data. It reveals animated migration for both North and South American continents and connects that information to birds’ local arrival and departure dates on the Refuge. The user can quickly determine if a specific species should be present on the Refuge at any given time. The exhibit also features high resolution satellite imagery of the Refuge with its trails, other features and habitat types.
