The National Wildlife Visitor Center
hosted Kids Fishing Day on June 9th, 2007. This yearly event kicks
off the fishing season for Cash Lake. Cash Lake is open to fishing
approximately mid-June to mid-October - more
information here. |
|
| The Refuge had over 200 young anglers. Along with fishing
in Lake Redington and Cash Lake, the kids learned about fishing ethics,
fish handling and casting. Many kids caught their first fish here
at Patuxent and returned to fish the very next day! |
|
| Once again, The Refuge provided all fishing equipment
and bait. Staff and volunteers were on hand to help bait hooks, handle
and identify fish and prepare worms. |
|
| A Patuxent Research Refuge Fishing Permit
is required for adults to fish on the Refuge. Fishing permits can
be issued at the National Wildlife Visitor Center and the North Tract.
The North Tract has fishing year round with the exception of some
holidays and hunting seasons. |

See you next year!
