Purpose: These essential volunteers enhance public awareness
of the Refuge and the NWRS, while providing information necessary
for a quality experience
Duties: Assists staff at the Visitor Contact Station; meets
and greets the public, informs them of recreational and educational
activities available, orients them to the refuge, issues Access Permits.
Answers phones, assists with mailings. Maintains a clean, safe environment
at the Visitor Contact Station.
Location of Assignment: North Tract Visitor Contact Station.
Qualifications: Good interpersonal skills. Clear Speaking
voice. Ability to take accurate messages.
Minimum Age Requirement: 18.
Training Provided/Required: Refuge Orientation (6
hours), Customer Service on-the-job training (8 hours).
Time Commitment: Must work at least one 4 hour shift per month.
Station hours vary seasonally
Related Issues: At times may be the only person on duty at
the VCS
