Purpose: These volunteers promote the Refuge and its mission by providing educational and interpretive experiences during community sponsored events.

Duties: Volunteers represent the Refuge by staffing information and activity tables at local community functions.

Location of Assignment: Local commuting area.

Qualifications: Extraordinary people skills, and enthusiasm for the Refuge and Refuge system are required. The ability to work in a variety of environments and conditions is required. Flexibility is also a necessity.

Minimum Age Requirement:16 (however, 14 year olds are permitted if working with a trained parent or guardian each time they volunteer).

Training Provided/Required: Refuge Orientation (6 hours), Customer Service on-the-job training (8 hours), and Community Outreach Training (2 hours). Defensive Driving may be required if a government vehicle will be driven.

Time Commitment: Varies.
