The New England Field Office has conducted, assisted in, or funded contaminant investigations both on and off National Wildlife Refuges in New England. These investigations, funded by the Service’s Washington Office, examine levels of contaminants in wildlife. The results of these investigations have been used by federal regulatory agencies and state environmental departments to protect human health and the environment. Final investigation reports are listed below. The reports are available as Portable Document Format (PDF) files and may be downloaded from this site (PDF reader required; e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader). The reports have been peer-reviewed by USFWS environmental contaminant specialists, other government scientists, state biologists, or scientists from non-governmental organizations.
