Federal Junior Duck Stamp Program
The annual Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program, and the numerous exhibitions of the winning stamp designs at state fairs, national refuges, art galleries, museums, government buildings, and at educational conferences have been of invaluable assistance in helping to inform the public about the maintenance and the protection of waterfowl and wetlands.
Developed by a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation in 1989-1990, the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program has expanded to include participation from all States and the District of Columbia. In November 1994, The Federal Junior Duck Stamp Act of 1994 (H.R.3679) was signed into law requiring funds raised from the sale of Federal Junior Duck Stamps to be used for conservation awards and scholarships to the participants.
This program has been extremely successful due to partnerships with Federal and State government agencies, private businesses, and volunteers who have helped to recognize and honor thousands of teachers and students throughout the United States for their participation in conservation related activities.
