Seatuck National Wildlife Refuge
This 196-acre refuge consists of grasslands, woodlands, and salt and freshwater marshes bordering Champlin Creek and Great South Bay, in Islip, New York. Over 200 species of birds have been documented at Seatuck. White-tailed deer and red fox are also common inhabitants. Seatuck is maintained for habitat diversity and actively managed for migratory birds, such as nesting osprey and purple martins, migrating raptors, waterfowl, and shorebirds. *Open to select public use activities (e.g., biological research, environmental education) by Special Use Permit.
