Field Trips to the Refuge

Educators and group leaders are encouraged to use the refuge as an outdoor classroom to enhance student learning of the natural environment through art, science, history, literature, or math. Field trips are free of charge however, we do ask that you make reservations at least two weeks in advance.

Field trips are self-led by the classroom teacher or group leader. It is recommended that teachers and group leaders attend a "Pre-field trip Orientation" before visiting the refuge with their students. Pre-field trip Orientations are offered on Saturdays as needed from 9:00am-2:00pm. Teachers can receive six Act 48 activity hours by completing this seminar. The orientation includes:

Pretrip Orientations will be scheduled on an "as need" basis.
