UPDATES (2006-2007) 1. Hunters with a validated DMZ
permit may scout hunt units. Scouting will be allowed on the two Sundays
prior to opening day from sunrise to sunset, as well as all Sundays during
the permittees corresponding season.
This means you cannot scout during a season for which you do not have
a permit. You must carry your
current hunting license and proper zone permit. No weapons may be possessed while
scouting. The permittee is the only
person authorized to scout the refuge. 2. The use of nails, wire,
screws, or bolts to attach a stand to a tree, or hunting from a tree into
which a metal object has been driven to support a hunter is prohibited on
National Wildlife Refuges. Use of
screw-in or nailed steps is also prohibited on National Wildlife Refuges. All
stands MUST be removed by the end of your corresponding season or they will
be confiscated. 3. Hunter Orientation dates for
2006-2007 season are: Brigantine Division: Sunday, August 27, Sunday, October 15 and Sunday,
November 12, 2006. Barnegat Division: Sunday, October 29 and Sunday November 19, 2006.
All sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. 4. Hunter Report Cards MUST be
returned within ten days of the close of your season. You may e-mail your information to:
forsythe@fws.gov. Please be sure to
write Hunter Report Card in the subject line and include all necessary
information. Information on 2006-07 deer permits has
been posted on the NJ Div. of Fish and Wildlife website. With the
implementation of the new Integrated Electronic Licensing System (IELS) there
are some major changes to the deer permit application and purchase process -
hunters should read the information carefully. Visit http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/news/2006/06deerlottery.htm
to learn about the process for obtaining permits for this year's permit
seasons. |
