New Jersey man charged with shooting hawks

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service conducted an investigation that led to the August 23 arrest of a New Jersey man who allegedly shot and killed up to 40 hawks at his Atlantic City home. It is illegal to shoot hawks under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and the charges could lead to penalties of imprisonment or fines.
