Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program: 75 Years – “It’s Your Nature!”

If you’ve ever purchased hunting or fishing equipment such as firearms, bows and arrows, rods and reels, fishing lures, or gas for your boat, you have contributed to one of the most successful conservation efforts in U.S. history. Excise taxes on your purchases, combined with hunting license fees, fund important wildlife conservation and hunting programs. Since its inception in 1937, the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program has provided more than $14 billion to support fish and wildlife restoration and management.
