Eastern Shore Birding FestivalThe annual Eastern Shore Birding Festival takes place on the first weekend after the first Wednesday in October each year. Tours of Fisherman Island as well as walks at the Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge are only a small part of this event. National Wildlife Refuge WeekIn celebration of National Wildlife Refuge Week, the refuge offers a variety of activities in conjunction with the Eastern Shore Birding Festival. Fisherman Island Tours, tours of the refuge, auditorium presentations, and activities for children are all offered during the event. National Wildlife Refuge Week is sponsored by the National Wildlife Refuge System. |
