Friends of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery
The Friends of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery, Inc. was established in 1995 and became incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization in February 1996.
The Mission of the Friends of Craig Brook is to promote educational and other activities in support of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery operations to maintain and enhance Atlantic salmon resources, and to promote responsible stewardship of watershed ecosystems.
What do Friends do?
Friends of Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery host visitors who come to learn about endangered Atlantic salmon and to acquaint themselves with recovery operations underway to prevent the extinction of the species. Friends help at the Visitor's Center. This is Bob Ramsdell at the reception desk, greeting visitors and providing them with a valuable learning experience regarding endangered Atlantic salmon and their habitats. |

The Friends designed, constructed and staffed the Atlantic Salmon Heritage Museum located on the hatchery property. The only museum of its kind in the United States, it contains Atlantic salmon angling memorabilia from New England, Canada and England. |

The Friends sponsor and staff many educational activities on and off the hatchery, including Jim Parker and friend's visit at the Penobscot River Festival. |
