Climate Change in the Northeast:
Preparing for the Future
Message from the Regional Director
More than 200 people from a variety of conservation agencies and organizations attended or made presentations at the June 2008 climate change workshop in Amherst, Massachusetts. The workshop provided new insight into the issues surrounding climate change and provided some new tools to address the challenges our wildlife resources will face in the changing environment. We are planning a second climate change workshop for March 2010 in Maryland.
The 2008 workshop was made possible by the work and funding of these sponsors: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey, National Park Service, Minerals Management Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Forest Service, State of Massachusetts and the George Wright Society.
