Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

Volunteers

Volunteers are an essential part of operations at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. They staff the Chincoteague Refuge Visitor Center, conduct wildlife surveys (censuses), record water levels in the impoundments, present interpretive walks and talks, construct and maintain refuge facilities, improve habitat, and perform a variety of other essential duties.  If you have an interest in wildlife, enjoy working outdoors, like dealing with people, or simply want to contribute in some way, consider joining the refuge's volunteer staff.  Training and uniforms will be provided - you supply the time and interest. Becoming involved is easy, simply fill out an application  for volunteer work.
