22 Sunrise Pony Walk
Early on many spectators will make their way to the beach to witness the sunrise and then a piece of living history.  Come join hundreds of other onlookers, who wait with anticipation for the Saltwater Cowboys to move a large group of Chincoteague Ponies from the northern area of the Refuge, down the beach, to a corral located along Beach Road, in preparation for the Annual Pony Swim

The diversity of wild places and wildlife found on more than 550 National Wildlife Refuges is celebrated.  Come build a birdhouse, see a live animal presentation or try your luck at fun activities such as Hooligan Heron’s Habitat Hunt.
