Q. What are the Refuge hours?
A. The Refuge is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset. The entrance fee ($4.00) is self-serve.
Q. What are the Visitor Center hours?
A. The Visitor Center and The Refuge Store are open Monday-Friday
from
8:00am to 4:00 pm throughout the year. On spring (March-May) and fall
(September - mid-December)
weekends (Saturday & Sunday) it is open from 9 am to 5 pm.
Q. When is the Allee House open for tours?
The Allee House is closed for repairs until further notice.
Q. How much is the entrance fee?
A. Visitors may pay the daily fee, $4.00 per car, or purchase one of several passes:
1. Federal Duck Stamp - The
cost is $15.00 per year and is
valid
from
July 1 to June 30 the following year. The Federal Duck Stamp will admit
you and your passengers into all National Wildlife Refuges.
2. Bombay Hook Annual Pass -
The cost is $12.00 per year,
valid from
the time of purchase.
3. Interagency Pass - The cost
is $80.00 per year,
valid
from the time of purchase. The Interagency Pass will admit you and
your passengers into many federal areas (National Wildlife Refuges,
National
Parks, Forest Service, etc.) that charge an entrance fee.
4. Interagency Senior Pass -
The cost is $10.00. Anyone who
is 62 years
of age or older and is a citizen of the United States may purchase the
lifetime Golden Age Passport. The Senior Pass will admit you and your
passengers into many federal fee areas
(National
Wildlife Refuges, National Parks, etc.).
5. Ineragency Access Pass -
The pass is free and is issued
to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are permanently disabled.
The Interagency Access Pass will admit the pass holder and any
accompanying passengers in a prviate non-commercial vehicle into many
federal areas (National Wildlife Refuges,
National
Parks, Forest Service, etc.) that charge an entrance fee. To be
eligible for the Access Pass, and applicant
must present documentation of permanent disability and residency.
If an applicant cannot produce documentation, they must read, sign, and
date the Statement of Disability Form in the presence of the staff
member issuing the pass.

A. The directions are as follows:
From the North - Philadelphia Area
Take I-95 South into Delaware
Take Route 1 South (Christiana exit) (toll road $1.00)
From Route 1 South take exit 114 (Smyrna- South exit)
RT 13 North will be
a right turn at the end of the exit ramp at a traffic light.
Turn right at the next light on to Road 12 East (Smyrna-Leipsic Road)
This road merges with Route 9 South (5 miles)
Turn left onto Whitehall Neck Road which ends at the Refuge entrance
From the South - Washington, DC Area
Take I-95 North to Washington, DC Beltway
Take Route 50 East over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
Take 301 North
Take Route 300 East to Smyrna
Take Route 13 South
Turn left on Route 12 East (Symrna-Leipsic Road) and proceed until it
merges with
Route 9 (5 miles). Stay on Route 9 south.
Turn left on Whitehall Neck Road which ends at the Refuge entrance
From Dover, Delaware
Take Route 13 North
Turn right onto Route 42 East into Leipsic
Turn left onto Route 9 and proceed north for 2 miles
Turn right onto Whitehall Neck Road which ends at the Refuge entrance
