About the Hatchery

The young Atlantic salmon and American shad raised at the North Attleboro National Fish Hatchery will be released into streams in New England to help restore native fish populations. Fish need healthy streams to survive, and the health of streams depends on the health of the watersheds that surround them. The native plant gardens here at North Attleboro National Fish Hatchery will help improve the health of this watershed by reducing runoff and pollution, making streams healthier for fish.
