Weekend Nature Programs.


2008 Schedules

Visitors at the Riparian Overlook.

Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge offers a variety of public programs on weekends from April through September. Programs include guided nature, bird, and photography walks, as well as informative slide shows detailing the history of the Nisqually Delta and the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Programs range in length from 1 to 4 hours. The Refuge is open from sunrise to sunset. Although the programs are free, the $3 per family entrance fee does apply.

 

April 2008

Saturday, April 12 at 9am
Take Flight: The Birds of Nisqually NWR
Explore the sights and sounds of various birds along the boardwalk.
Approximately 2 hours.

Sunday, April 13 at 1pm
Quiet Beauty: the Plants of Nisqually NWR
Explore the Refuge with a focus on plant life and Ethnobotany.
Approximately 90 minutes.

Saturday, April 19 at 8am
Intro to Wildlife Photography

Bring your camera for a walk and slide presentation by local photographer, Gene Sine.
Approximately 4 hours.

Sunday, April 20 at 2pm
Take Flight: The Birds of Nisqually NWR
Explore the Refuge with a focus on the sights and sounds of birds.
Approximately 90 minutes.


Saturday, April 26 at 10am
The Wonder of Nisqually

Explore what the Refuge has to offer with this general nature walk.
Approximately 2 hours.
