We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, announce the location, date, and time of four public hearings to receive public comments on the proposed migratory bird subsistence harvest regulations in Alaska for the 2009 season.  The proposed regulations would enable the continuation of customary and traditional subsistence uses of migratory birds in Alaska and prescribe regional information on when and where the harvesting of birds may occur.  These proposed regulations are accessible at http://alaska.fws.gov/ambcc/news.htm.  We are also extending the public comment period until February 19, 2009.  If you submitted comments previously, then you do not need to resubmit them because we have already incorporated them into the public record and we will fully consider them in preparation of our final determination.

  • January 28, 2009, the Community Center, Point Lay, AK; and
