Andrew Major, Phil Leeser, and Ken Munney participated in conducting the 2008 NH Envirothon. The New England Field Office has participated in the NH Envirothon for over 15 years and works in tandem with the NH Department of Fish and Game and the NH Department of Environmental Services to represent the Wildlife Section.

In 2008, 17 teams of high school students from across the state competed in the annual Envirothon, which trains and tests student's knowledge in an array of environmental areas, including wildlife, aquatics, soils, forestry, and current issues. 2008's theme was "Recreational Impacts on Natural Resources". Keene High School won the Wildlife Section, and the NH overall competition, and will be going tothe national competition in Arizona in July 2008.
