Estuarine Shoreline Erosion in
North Carolina Study
The Raleigh ES Field Office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service supported a special study to update the estuarine shoreline erosion
rates in northeastern North Carolina and the cumulative land loss rates in
Fiscal Year 2002. The study was undertaken by Dr. Stan Riggs, Ms. Dorothea
Ames, and Ms. Megan Murphy in the Department of Geology at East Carolina University,
under Federal Contract No. 1448-40181-02-G-082.
The study report and its figures are part of a forthcoming
publication from the North Carolina Sea Grant. Portions funded in part
by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are provided below for viewing/download in various formats.
