Hickory Shad Fishery


Hickory shad are not very important commercially but are a popular recreational species. Hickory shad spawn in small streams as well as the mainstem and have benefited from the 925 miles of tributary streams opened by the Quaker Neck and Cherry Hospital Dam Removal Project.
