One year internship

Available Positions:

The National Wildlife Refuges in the Florida Keys routinely have four - 1 year internship positions - three biology and one visitor services, hired through the Student Conservation Association. Resumes may be sent directly to National Key Deer Refuge or Crocodile Lake National Wildlife Refuge. However, we recommend that interested interns contact the Student Conservation Association, P. O. We provide housing and basic utilities (no cable or long distance telephone service). Interns are strongly recommended to have a vehicle and be accustomed to working in humid conditions with both biting insects and poisonous plants.

Position:

"Bio-tech" - Position includes exotic plant control, monitoring populations of endangered endemic rodents, various endangered American crocodile surveys, habitat restoration projects, and miscellaneous administrative and maintenance duties.

Position:

"Bio-tech" - Position includes exotic plant control, monitoring population of the endangered Key deer (including conducting various surveys, necropsies, water hole monitoring, etc.), sea turtle nesting surveys, habitat restoration projects, and miscellaneous administrative and maintenance duties.

"Public Use" - Position includes conducting interpretive walks and programs, developing educator materials specific to the Florida Keys NWRs (Activity Guides), development of brochures and other outreach materials, public use planning, and miscellaneous administrative and maintenance duties.
