Establishing Links in your web pages to Federal Register Notices
These are new instructions superceding instructions posted on this page prior to January 22, 2003
The GPO now publishes a daily index of Federal Register Notices on the internet. Each day's index includes all agencies and links to notices posted by those agencies for that day.
When you access the web page for the day of interest, scroll down to or perform a search on "Fish" to locate the area of the Fish and Wildlife Service notices. You will find a description of the day's notice and links to both an html and PDF version of that notice. This index does not include a link to the summary document for the notice. Include the appropriate link for the index into your web page.
To locate the notice for a particular day, visit the daily index whose web address is in the form http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/fedreg/ayymmddc.html where the yymmdd in the last part of the address is the year, month and day of the date you wish to access.
For example, the address for the index of Federal Register Notices for January 21, 2003 is: http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/fedreg/a030121c.html.
If you want to place the summary Federal Register Notice into your web page, I recommend that you use the Federal Register search site at: http:///www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/aces/aces140.html to find the summary and then copy that summary into a file on your own website. Using the links to the Summary, HTML and PDF versions from this site is not advised as the addresses change and may be valid for only a few days.
