By court order, the Fish and Wildlife Service was directed to reconsider whether the Westslope cutthroat trout should be listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.
After a thorough review of all the available scientific information, we reaffirm our previous decision that the Westslope cutthroat does not warrant listing as a threatened species because abundant, stable, and reproducing populations remain well distributed throughout its historic range.
