Federal Wildland Fire Job Web Page Available

If you’re interested in a wildland fire job this summer in Wyoming and/or Northwest Colorado, a one-stop shopping web page is now online to help you.

The new website, www.firejobs.doi.gov is part of a pilot project to make applying for a federal wildland fire job easier. The Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service are working together to ease the application process. An applicant now can apply online for all bureaus with one application.

The jobs available on this web site are for grade levels GS-02 through GS-05 in the 455 range technician and 462 forestry technician series. The locations in Wyoming where jobs are available include: Ft. Washakie, Buffalo, Casper, Cody, Lander, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Worland, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park. The location for Northwest Colorado is Maybell, Colorado.

The jobs will be open from December 23, 2002 through September 30, 2003. To apply for any other wildland fire job, please go to http://www.usajobs.opm.gov.
