The Flint Hills is the
largest remaining area of native tallgrass prairie in North America. Only 3% of the
original tallgrass ecoregion is left in North America, and within this 3% the majority
faces numerous threats to it's social, fiscal and biological well being.
With respect and
sensitivity towards the region's ranching communities, the Kansas Partners Program offers
technical and financial assistance on a variety of practices, all of which benefit both
the ranchers' needs and the ecological needs of this important area.

This Partners project,
located in the Flint Hills Focus Area,
is the largest prairie cordgrass meadow known to exist in North America..
