This Focus Area is comprised of
property owned and managed by the Confederate Tribe of the Goshute. The area includes
streams that contain native Bonneville cutthroat trout populations.
Utah Partners for Fish and Wildlife is
cooperating with the Confederate Tribe of the Goshute, Trout Unlimited, National Resources
Conservation Service, Utah Division of Wildlife, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Office in Roosevelt to protect riparian areas and enhance production areas for native
trout. In a cooperative effort, 3.5 miles of fencing has been constructed to protect
1,730 upland acres and 9 miles of stream. Two ponds have been constructed to function as
rearing areas for the native trout. |
