Vet Hire & Student Hire Program:  Vet-Hire is a citizen-centered outreach initiative sponsored by the American GI Forum that is designed to assist Federal Agencies recruit veterans from nuestra comunidad who are interested in being considered for federal employment.  The HEP is currently assisting in outreach for the program and entering students into the database.  Ms. Emily Alvarado, serves on the HEP Committee and is currently detailed to the GI Forum to work on the project.  For more information or questions regarding the GI Forum please visit their web page at http://www.agif.us/vethire.htm or send an e-mail to Emily_Alvarado@blm.gov.

Mentorship Program:  The HEP Committee members are bringing students who are working for their Agency's and employees who are interested in networking and moving up in their organizations to HEP meetings.  The goal of the mentorship program is to provide the students and employees with positive role models in the Federal Government to share success stories and provide advice in moving up in the Federal Government.  A portion of the meeting time is for scheduled training that is beneficial to both the students and employees.  Training topics range from "improving resumes" to "management skills".  For more information, please contact the HEP Chairperson by e-mail at Athena.Quezada@ed.gov

High School Visits:  HEP Committee members are currently visiting targeted schools that have a high concentration of Hispanic students to discuss employment in the Federal Government.  Brochures, application processes, and student programs are shared with students and faculty.  For more information, please contact the HEP Chairperson by e-mail at Athena.Quezada@ed.gov
