Bob Danley, Outdoor Recreation Planner at Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, is one of two individuals nominated by The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the American Recreation Coalition's Beacon Award.

The Beacon Award is co-sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Federal Highway Administration. This award recognizes one individual for each major recreation-related Federal agency who has shown innovative use of technology in visitor services and recreation management.

Mr. Danley is being honored for his work that has reached visitors near and far through tweets, blogs and by electronically communicating refuge events on Facebook and his field station's website, along with weekly radio and monthly TV appearances that highlight refuge wildlife topics.

The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is working with
Others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, plants and
