The Department of the Interior prohibits discrimination on the bases of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, mental or physical disability, sexual orientation and reprisal.  Any person who believes (s)he has been discriminated against should contact an EEO Counselor within 45 calendar days of the alleged incident before filing a formal complaint. 

Summary:  This section outlines the policies and procedures for filing, processing, investigating, settling, and adjudicating discrimination complaints in the FWS.   It implements Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended and prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (sexual and non-sexual harassment), national origin, age, disability, and reprisal for protected EEO communication.

Applicability:  The policies and procedures for filing complaints of discrimination applies to all Region 6 FWS employees, applicants for Region 6 FWS and beneficiaries of services of Region 6 FWS.  Click on Office Staff for telephone numbers of Region 6 counselors and Sexual Harassment Hotline information.
