COMPREHENSIVE CONSERVATION PLAN

Modoc National Wildlife Refuge began it's Comprehensive Conservation Plan (CCP) process in August 2007. The purpose of the CCP is to describe how the Refuge can best be managed to continue benefiting wildlife, plants and people over the next 15 years. The CCP provides the refuge manager a blue print for management by identifying goals, objectives, and strategies. It also provides neighbors and others a clear picture of what the Refuge intends to do in terms of managing the habitat, protecting the wildlife, and providing a place where people can enjoy wildlife-dependent activities.
Planning Update 1 describes the CCP process and the Refuge. Planning Update 2 describes the scoping process, comments received, and provides a draft vision statement and goals for the Refuge. The CCP Team is currently developing draft alternatives.
Comments are welcome at anytime during the planning process. Please send comments to: Steve Clay, Refuge Manager, Modoc National Wildlife Refuge, 5364 County Road 115, Alturas, CA 96101 or to Jackie Ferrier, Refuge Planner, Sacramento NWR Complex, 752 County Road 99W, Willows, California 95988, Jackie_Ferrier@fws.gov.
