The U.S. Fish and Wildlife has published many pamphlets on backyard birding. Four of these pamphlets were originally edited for the internet by Terry Ross, of the Baltimore Bird Club*. These pamphlets are available on-line only.

Most of the content in the above pamphlets were combined into a colorful all-encompassing pamphlet. "For the Birds."
