The New York Power Authority has been conducting research on lake sturgeon on the St. Lawrence River for approximately the past 10 years.

Thier primary effort has been to establish spawning beds on the St. Lawrence River. Additionally they have been a cooperator with the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation on a sturgeon egg project for a number of years.
