Sturgeon Research / Activities
Rick
Loeffler is a member of an environmental compliance team
for a hydroelectric firm. He assists with design and development
of fish passage/protection at hydroelectric facilities
with lake sturgeon as target species.
The
Sturgeion Attraction Flow Demonstration video (see link
below) was put together as part of a tour of our hydroelectric
facility prior to a public meeting outlining fish passage
facilities that are planned to be installed at the project.
The video demonstrated how we were able to attract sturgeon
into unused turbine flumes in order to determine where
it was best to build the fish passage structure.
