Amschler WPA is a 310 acre unit located in the Town of Stanton in St. Croix County. The WPA has a rolling landscape with many wetlands. Located adjacent to a string of connected WPAs and State Wildlife Areas, Amschler WPA is part of 3,000 acres of prairie wetland habitat.

Star Prairie WPA contains 308 acres of wetlands and grasslands in the Town of Stanton in St. Croix County. The WPA provides quality nesting habitat for a host of migratory bird species including mallards, northern shovelors, Trumpeter Swans, meadowlarks and Henslow's sparrow.

Bass Lake WPA is a 260 acre unit in St. Croix County that contains some unbroken native prairie. The WPA is being restored with locally harvested native seed. By planting seed harvested locally, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service re-creates prairies that look and function as they did long ago. Seeds with local genetic history produce grasses and wildflowers adapted to the soil and weather of west-central Wisconsin.

Rock Creek WPA is a 478 acre unit in the Town of Rock Creek in Dunn County. The WPA provides open grassland and wetland habitat as well as some remnant oak savanna. It provides quality habitat for sandhill cranes, meadowlarks, bobolinks, wood ducks and mallards.
